What is NetworthIQ?
Why should I use it?
By tracking your net worth over time, you can make sure you stay on track to meet your financial goals. If you choose to share your net worth, other people can see how you're progressing. Many personal finance bloggers are sharing their net worth, so we thought it would be fun to provide a service for them and anyone else who wants to do the same.
We're planning many features for NetworthIQ in order to create a community where you can see how you're doing compared to others and share ideas about how everyone can improve their net worth in one place.
You want me to give you my financial information?!
This is a social experiment. We think it would be interesting for people to track and share their net worth in order to create greater financial awareness and responsibility. We don't ask for any personal information other than an email address, and that is only to uniquely identify you on our site. We will not sell your information. We will not make your profile publicly available unless you tell us we can.
Does it cost anything?
Nope. NetworthIQ is free for anyone to use.
I use Microsoft Money, Quicken, or some other product to track my finances, so why would I use your service?
We commend you. You're probably ahead of most people when it comes to managing your money. We think that our service complements any financial tool by giving you a simple way to track your bottom line and share it with the world if you choose.
What do I put in each net worth category?
For a detailed list of how to categorize all of your accounts, go here.
How do I create a public profile (make my net worth available for anyone to see)?
To create a public profile, just check the "Make Public" checkbox when you register, or in the My Account area once you've logged into the site. Then you can access the profile by going to:
Be sure to replace <username> with your actual username.
What if I don't want to share my profile?
No problem. We'll only make your profile public if you tell us it's ok to do so. Leave the "Make Public" box unchecked when you sign up or uncheck it in the My Account area at any time to stop sharing it.
I have a comment/question/bug/feature request for you. How can I contact you?
How Do I cancel my account?
We're sorry to see you go, but know that tastes change. Send us an email at email@example.com, from the email address registered for your NetworthIQ account.
