Here's some highlights from the first half of 2017:
- Retirement has done pretty well in the first half of the year, floating with the market.
- Good annual bonus in March 2017 ($27k), which essentially replenished cash on hand from buying the pool and car. (Bought a car in Dec 2016. New vehicle worth ~$27k, old is $3k.)
- Already essentially maxed out hubby's 401k contribution for the year (somewhat accidentally, since I forgot to adjust the withholding.)
- Aiming to max out both 401k's and IRAs with an in-year conversion to Roth. I tried that in 2016 for the first time. Fingers crossed I did it right.

To Do List:
1. Combine Roth IRA accounts held in two locations. One is currently sitting in cash position, maybe $40k
2. Plan out and save for some family vacations. Want to go to Costa Rica in summer 2018.

Some notes so that I can remember what I did:
- Stocks/bonds represent taxable accounts
- Kids' 529s are lumped in with retirement
- Retirement consists of a blend of Roth IRAs, regular IRAs, pension balances and 401k investments
