Just turned 30 years old 12/28/09 and trying to become a millionaire by my 31st birthday.
2/19/11 update: I fell short of becoming a millionaire by my 31st birthday. I am 31 now and my new goal is to become a millionaire before I turn 32. 5/28/11 update: I have now finally become a millionaire at 31 years and 5 months old, took 5 months longer than what my goal was but feels great!
Why I joined NetworthIQ:
Good way to remind me to keep track of my net worth and compare how I'm doing to others
Best Financial Decision:
Living below my means, saving a lot of money in order to accelerate my reaching my financial goals
Worst Financial Decision:
Speculating in some hyped penny stocks and losing about $20,000
Current Financial Strategy:
Try to save, on average, $15,000-$20,000+ per month after all expenses, pre-tax. In 2009 I was able to save 80% of my pre-tax income.
How I manage my money:
Keep a daily budget of all expenses. I try to remember two wise sayings a very wealthy man told me once: "Live as though you don't have money and you will always have" and "Don't let your desire extend beyond your reach"
Tools I use:
Check all my banking accounts and brokerage accounts daily, keep track of my business profits daily, use excel to keep a daily budget
I need help with:
Any ideas on how to make more money are always welcomed
