I saw that the wife and I needed to get serious about saving.
Why I joined NetworthIQ:

Best Financial Decision:
KEPT DEBT LOW. Paid cash or did without. Just as those in Alcoholic's Anonymous must chose each day whether to drink or not...I must face my demons each day on wanting to spend.
Worst Financial Decision:
Got talked into buying Enron by a CPA friend...he still is my friend.
Current Financial Strategy:
Try to save about 20% of gross income, and give to charity about 6-8%. Buy a few toys along the way but keep life simple and hug your family, almost lost my child to cancer and it really hardened my desire to save because you really don't know what tomorrow will bring.
How I manage my money:
Set a goal. Ours was to own home debt free...took 10 years (saving about 15K a year and living small) and low and behold it happened.
Tools I use:
Self-Denial, and wife looking over my shoulder.
I need help with:
Knowing what I need help with.
Favorite Financial Personalities:
Jesus...studied what he said about money. Money is not evil just the "love" of it at the expense of other more worthy endeavors. Money is not the goal but the way we manage it for our good and the good of others.
